PlagScan-in-a-BOX – Your Private Solution for Maximum Security

PlagScan has been one of the leading plagiarism checkers on the education market for several years. Due to many years of experience with educational institutions, we have adapted our software to the needs of teachers and learners in the best ways.

Since some educational institutes – and also commercial businesses – don’t ever want their documents to leave their own network, we offer to install our plagiarism software locally into your data processing center.

With this post, we want to highlight our PlagScan-in-a-BOX on-premise solution. This self-hosted way to use PlagScan has been around since 2012. More recently, we have experienced an increase in inquiries about a self-hosted on-premise solution. Therefore, we decided to spotlight our BOX and raise awareness about this more private solution by PlagScan.

Keeping your data and documents with you 100%

By installing PlagScan as an on-premise solution in your own data processing center, you basically set up a private cloud. All information that goes through PlagScan will always be accessible only locally via the intranet. With PlagScan-in-a-BOX, all documents and data remain fully with your organization and never leave your network.

PlagScan naturally also guarantees data protection and security for the Internet Cloud offer. With the BOX solution, however, we want to reach customers who can’t take advantage of the standard offer due to stricter regulations.

Since you will be using your own resources, you have the undivided computing power at your disposal. Furthermore, the connection to local services –such as the LDAP user administration, the examination office or the library archive – is easier to implement on the intranet.

Several big institutions are using our BOX already. Here’s why:

University of Zurich on PlagScan’s simple integration into its own system

“In addition to the user-friendliness of the software, data protection aspects were particularly important to us,” said Franziska Moll of the University of Zurich. “With the PlagScan-in-a-BOX solution, we can optimally fulfill our duty of care in this respect to be true.”

Additionally, PlagScan was integrated into the existing digital infrastructure. This allowed existing system settings to be retained and existing administration settings to be transferred to PlagScan.

Duale Hochschule Baden Württemberg (DHBW) about PlagScan’s competent customer support

The DHBW tested a total of six different products before declaring that PlagScan offered the best solution for the institution’s selection requirements. These were aimed at integration options, data protection and customer support.

“PlagScan offered quick support and has provided competent and flexible solutions to any occurring problems,” said Andreas Stöffer of the DHBW. “PlagScan’s CEO Markus Goldbach personally made sure that our institution was satisfied with the product and personally served explanations and innovative service solutions.”

In terms of support, we provide complete technical assistance for installation and server maintenance. Our support team is available to you at any time during the entire setup and will be there for you in case unexpected problems may occur.

Do you need an internal solution for the quality assurance of your content?

Institutions such as ETH Zurich and the German Sports University Cologne (DSHS) also use PlagScan-in-a-BOX and gave us positive feedback. You can find the success story of the DSHS here.
